Olivia's Story
I have been in hospitality for 6 years. My first job was very varied as it was a smaller hotel, so I worked in most departments ranging from the bar and restaurant to housekeeping and laundry. I was also worked many different functions (weddings, parties, christenings, wakes and conferences) At Belton Woods my main job role has been front office where I started as a receptionist and was given the opportunity to grow. Lockdown also gave me the opportunity to put some of the muti-tasking skills I had learnt to use and I was an integral part of the lock down team. Now 4 years later at Belton Woods, I have hit one of my career goals and am now Front of House Manager. I have already warned the General Manager that I am gunning for his role one day!
There are many things I love about working at Belton Woods but if I had to choose what I love the most, it’s that no two days are the same, there is always something exciting happening especially at the moment with all the investment that is being made into the hotel which is providing many new challenges and learning opportunities. I am very lucky in that my colleagues around me are always there to support and guide me and this gives me motivation to keep on striving for greater responsibilities.

“My biggest achievement is becoming Front of House Manager at the age of 21. Also, believe it or not but in my down time I do love to get the boxing gloves on and step into the ring!”
