The Midland Hotel rated Manchester’s Best Place to Work in Hospitality

The Midland Hotel has been listed in The Caterer's top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality in the UK and was the only hospitality business in Manchester to make the prestigious list.

Teaming up with people engagement specialist Purple Cubed, The Caterer's annual Best Places to Work in Hospitality survey recognises the very best businesses in hospitality, judged by their employees on categories such as staff welfare, engagement and retention.

Entry in to the awards required employees of The Midland to complete an online survey about what it is like to work in the city's most iconic hotel.

Of the employees who completed the survey, over 75% of them declared 'being part of a team that respects each other' as the best thing about working at The Midland. This was closely followed by the hotel being regarded as 'a good environment to be in'.

The Midland also ranked highly for 'fair pay', 'being paid on time' and 'good communication with my manager.'

Comments on the survey include: "It's a fantastic place to work which has kept some staff since the 1950s. A real family atmosphere, never before experienced"; "There are a great many benefits including free meals, an open gym and discounts on QHotels across the UK".

The top three Best Places to Work in Hospitality (The Café in the Park, Firmdale Hotels and Valor Hospitality Europe) will now go forward to the shortlist to be crowned Best Employer at the forthcoming industry Catey's.
