Who wants to be stuck in an office or meeting room when the sun
is shining outside? If you really want to engage, motivate and bond
with your delegates this summer, take team building outside.
This year, QHotels, together with team building partner Team
Spirit, is organising a host of summer-themed activities for
corporate professionals ranging from outdoor problem-solving
challenges, to falconry and 'It's a Knockout' events complete with
giant costumes, water and foam.
These types of summer activities really boost morale amongst
your team. Delegates can go away having bonded as a team and formed
Tom Woodhead, Marketing Manager at Team Spirit explains:
"We love to work with venues, like QHotels' Norton Park for
example, which have plenty of indoor meeting and conference space
to accommodate large delegate numbers, and the outdoor
grounds - (Norton Park boasts 54 acres) - for the team
"Our clients and delegates love the combination of old and new,
so the traditional manor house and barn at Norton Park, contrasting
with all the mod cons of its modern conferencing facility, is
really appealing. And there's the option to be flexible with lunch
and dinner arrangements as many professionals dine alfresco or opt
for a summer barbeque to complete their day outside"
Whichever of QHotels' 27 venues you choose for your next
team-building event, below are some of our recommended summer
activities for you and your team:
It's a Knockout
It's a Knockoutreplicates the fun 70s TV classic, with teams
competing in fun costumes, on giant inflatables with water and
foam, in their quest to earn the most points and be crowned theIt's
It goes down a storm with delegates. It's competitive, fun and
puts a huge smile on people's faces.
Whilst the event is fun, it can also re-enforce key business
themes of teamwork and communication and working together to
achieve a common goal.
Outside Influencer offers a selection of problem-solving
activities and challenges for teams to work through together.
For example, for the Minefield challenge, teams havelimited
equipment and time to make their way through a minefield to set off
a "live" bomb.
For our Toxic Transfer activity, teams have to transport the
toxic liquid to the safety vessel, without touching it or spilling
any liquid, which would lead to contamination!
Snapshot is a photo-based treasure hunt activity and the ideal
way for your delegates to appreciate their conference destination,
as they navigate their way around using a route and clues.
Teams are also tasked with completing practical challenges to
earn extra points. They can earn bonus points en route for solving
fun treasure hunt-style cryptic clues and questions, meeting a few
interesting characters along the way.
Snapshot works brilliantly in the rolling acres at Norton Park,
but can equally be adapted to city centre location like The Queens
or The Midland.
