Jessica is ‘Outstanding’ at Marketing Cheshire Awards

The Park Royal, one of QHotels' collection of 27 unique and luxury hotels, is celebrating the great service provided by one of its staff members.

Assistant Restaurant Manager, Jessica Barnett, collected an award for 'Outstanding Customer Service' at the recent Marketing Cheshire Annual Awards Evening for her commitment to delivering customer service excellence.

The awards, now in their 10th year, celebrate the very best in Cheshire and Warrington's tourism industry. Its 14 categories recognise outstanding achievement among businesses in the area. The winners of several categories will go on to represent Cheshire at the national Visit England Awards for Excellence in 2015.

Jessica was recognised in the brand new award category, 'Outstanding Customer Service',  for going 'above and beyond' in providing customer service to ensure that visitors to Cheshire enjoyed their time at the hotel.

Starting her career as a Food Services Assistant, Jessica has been a member of the team at The Park Royal for almost two years.

Jessica stood out to the judges because of her excellent customer feedback, hands-on approach and upbeat personality which clearly motivates and raises the morale of the team around her.

Jessica was on duty the night the hotel had its AA audit, where it was awarded 80 per cent for service levels and contributed to QHotels being crowned AA Hotel Group of the Year.  The AA auditor said that Jessica was a credit to the hotel, organised and efficient while offering friendly conversation to all guests.

Jessica was also one of The Park Royal team members that went the extra mile to support the USA rugby team, USA Tomahawks, during the Rugby League World Cup tournament in October 2013.

Playing three matches in just eight days, it was important that the team kept to their schedule and that their stay at The Park Royal was as comfortable as possible. Jessica gave the player liaison manager her personal contact details so that she could easily be alerted to any schedule changes, ensuring that meals could be ready for the team's arrival - even when she was not working.

She received excellent feedback from the players themselves. USA Tomahawks player, Michael Garvey, commented, "Jessica went above and beyond to make sure we instantly felt at home."

Jessica said "I am completely overwhelmed to have won such a prestigious award. I'm really passionate about giving our guests the very best experience; I genuinely love serving them, and so to be recognised for this is just fantastic."

QHotels was named AA Hotel Group of the Year 2014, which recognises the group's track record of offering the very best levels of service, food and accommodation in all its properties.
