The French wins not one but two awards!

It's been a successful couple of weeks for The French by Simon Rogan at The Midland, Manchester.

The restaurant was awarded the prestigious three AA Rosettes, and on 7th October won two awards at The Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards - Best Newcomer and Restaurant of the Year.

The MFDF Awards were curated by the MFDF Judging Panel, made up of the region's leading food and drink critics and experts.

The Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards provide a benchmark for excellence in the hospitality industries throughout Greater Manchester.

This year's nominee roll call saw a bumper list of new dining stars, and exciting talent across the board, following a year of significant development for Manchester's national foodie reputation. The French faced some tough competition from restaurants such as Michael Caine's Restaurant and Yuzu.

The shortlisted venues were mystery shopped by the judging panel and the scores from these were combined with votes made by the public over the last month via the MFDF website.

The French is Simon Rogan's first restaurant located in the opulent The Midland Hotel, Manchester.  In September of this year Simon Rogan launched his highly anticipated second restaurant Mr Coopers House & Garden.
