Scooping the PGA Professional Championship, Dan is the Man

QHotels' Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort is celebrating the success of Resident Golf Professional, Dan Greenwood, after the 39-year-old won the prestigious Glenmuir PGA Professional Championships at Slaley this weekend.
Dan, who has been a long-standing employee at Forest Pines, joining the hotel 17 years ago when the course opened, landed the biggest prize of his professional career, after finishing eight-under to scoop the championship.
As well as being awarded the prestigious title, Dan also picked up £10,000 prize money, use of a Peugeot 208 for a year, a place in the 2013 Great Britain & Ireland PGA Cup team and a spot in the end-of-season Titleist PGA Play-Offs in Turkey. He also qualifies for two PGAs of Europe events.
Dan Greenwood commented: "The win is simply fantastic, it's not a tournament I ever thought I could win, so I'm absolutely delighted and I can't stop smiling. To have come sixth last year and then finish with the title this year means so much."
Forest Pines Group Golf Operations Manager, Andrew Cook, commented: "Everyone at QHotels and Forest Pines Golf & Hotel Resort couldn't be happier for Dan, he's so dedicated to the sport - he even missed his wife's birthday at the start of last week. It's a pleasure having such a professional at our course and we can't wait to see him compete in the PGA Cup team."
The PGA Cup team, which will see a 10-strong team from the UK, take on their United States rivals in September in the biennial Ryder Cup equivalent for PGA Professionals.
