The future of conferences and events

The future of C&E

As we enter the New Year, the pages of C&E magazines and websites, as well as LinkedIn and Twitter, are full of industry leaders predicting the next big trends and debating whether new technologies such as virtual and augmented reality will make that long-awaited breakthrough.

But as the industry focuses on the big trends for 2017, we wanted to go one step further. So we brought our Event Profs Panel and the leading futurist expert, Dr Ian Pearson, together to explore what conferences and events might look like in years to come.

The day, which explored everything from transport and technology to society and politics, resulted in a number of thought-provoking findings which we've put into one, easy-to-read visual.

As you will see the big talking points from the event were around security becoming tighter and more important to bookers and technological developments, with AR and VR becoming mainstream.

We'd love to get your thoughts and own experiences in the comments below and whether you agree or disagree with our predictions.

We'll be sharing more findings and insights from the day here soon, so watch this space!
