What makes a good training venue

Training venues

We understand as well as any business the importance of employee development and training, but we also understand how time consuming it can be.

That's why it's critical to ensure that when the opportunity for training comes around, people are engaged and able to get the most out of it - which means having the right training environment.

After recognising a demand for spaces designed specifically for training events, we conducted our own research amongst customers, training agencies and businesses, to find out what they specifically needed from venues to deliver the most effective training.

The results were surprising, with high-quality AV tech and equipment expected as standard, but not critical to training success. The most important aspect of learning and development was the need for face-to-face interaction and the key requirement from a venue was flexible space and service.

The flexibility required in venue space included:

  • the ability to act as a blank canvas that can be easily adapted for different types of  training events
  • plenty of break-out spaces
  • modern layouts over traditional styles
  • furniture should be comfortable and ergonomic

Space specifically designed for training and not simply repurposed conference space was also a huge benefit.

In terms of service, having choice was the priority. The choice to change room layouts and take advantage of additional or larger spaces if required, flexible terms and conditions and interesting and unique food and refreshments offerings, including healthy and brain-stimulating options to keep trainees focused.

It was precisely because of this feedback that we took a good look at what we offered for training and developed our Inspirational Training package.

Reflecting the desire for flexibility in service and space, the inspirational package offers the widest choice throughout the day for both trainer and delegates, and means you get to decide how you want the venue on the day, in terms of layout and itineraries, offering a complete and professional service
