Top tips for booking a venue on a budget

Managing the budget can be a challenging part of an event organiser's role. Our clients frequently ask us how they can make the most of their funds, without scrimping on service.

So we thought we'd share our advice and tips on the subject.

In our experience one of the easiest ways to immediately make a difference is to be flexible with dates. Simply hosting an event outside of peak periods (typically Tuesday - Thursday), can bring the cost of your venue down, freeing up budget to spend elsewhere.

For events where the dates can be flexibile, we suggest organisers consider scheduling at the start or end of the working week.

To help our event customers maximise budget we've launched our Meet Off Peak package, which promotes those off-peak times that are in lower demand for events and where savings can therefore be found. The package makes it easy for event bookers to see the dates available and the flexibility options.

That's not to say that delegates have to lose out. We understand that meeting off-peak can be difficult and less convenient for some so our package also offers the choice of complimentary extras, which add value and ensure delegates enjoy their event experience whether it's a Monday or a Friday.

We've seen that special treats or surprises on the day, such as bacon rolls on arrival or a drinks reception, certainly help delegates see the merits of an off-peak event, making it easier for the organiser to get them on board!

Saving on venue cost, might even allow some room in the budget for a corporate golf session or a team building activity.
