their place and can provide interesting event settings, it's
difficult to compete with the hotel model when it comes to

2. Fewer suppliers
Independent venues often require event bookers to outsource
elements such as catering and AV, so the largest and perhaps most
obvious advantage of organising events at our hotels is being able
to book and coordinate everything through one in-house team.
Having a 'one-stop-shop' of experts to organise everything from
F&B and AV, to operations and teambuilding means organisers
have fewer suppliers to coordinate and a single, dedicated point of
contact. It also means our people are experienced in working
together to bring every element together seamlessly.
3. Combining business and
We're also seeing a growing trend in corporate bookers looking
to add value to their conferences and meetings by combining
business and leisure (dubbed in the industry as 'Bleisure').
In this sense hotels can offer the whole package. For example our
corporate customers can not only benefit from specialist events
spaces and state-of-the-art facilities but high-quality
accommodation, luxurious spas and health clubs, golf courses and a
range of restaurants on site.
4. Competitive packages for
Event organisers also benefit from packages designed
specifically for C&E bookers. Where events have a little
more elasticity, our 'Meet Off Peak' package can bring the cost of
the venue down by booking outside our over-subscribed key
conference days (Tuesday/Wednesday), freeing up budget to be spent
elsewhere. We also offer a choice of special complimentary extras,
such as bacon rolls on arrival, a free syndicate room, bedroom
upgrades for organisers and senior managers and a drinks reception,
all of which add value and ensure attendees continue to enjoy their
event experience, whichever day of the week it's held on.
