Making Mother's Day Marvellous for First-Time Mums

Calling all first-time dads and dedicated partners! We just know you're looking for a way to make the lady in your life feel even more fabulous on March 6th, and if it's her first Mother's Day then it's even more important to do the day justice!

There's no need to panic, though - we've put together a list of pampering treats worthy of any new mum. So have a browse, pick your favourite, and get ready to make her day.

Afternoon tea at The Midland

The Midland's take on the quintessentially British tradition of Afternoon Tea has been on wish-lists all around the world since 1903, when their very first selection of cakes, sandwiches and speciality teas were served up to the fine people of Manchester.

Today, The Midland's Afternoon Tea is served in the opulent surroundings of the hotel's Octagon Lounge, and offers guests the chance to indulge in this delightful tradition in a hotel that has played host to kings and queens. Where better?

Very special sparkle

Jewellery is always a good idea, but on the occasion of her very first Mother's Day as a mum, you need that necklace, ring or bracelet to be even more special. Luxurious jewellery brands often have a collection which specifically celebrates mothers; try  this range  from  PANDORA, or bear in mind that the iconic blue  Tiffany box will always signify a very special occasion.

Pure pampering with a day spa

Treat her to a day of little indulgences that'll leave her feeling fabulous for weeks. The QHotels day spa packages (available here) allow you to pick a package that suits your budget and location, while allowing her to choose the treatments she'd love the most. A firm favourite of ours is  the  'Your Little Slice of Heaven' package  (from £75pp) which offers four different treatments - each lasting 30 minutes - as well as lunch, a robe, towel and slippers, and use of the health club facilities.

Dinner at her favourite restaurant

If she has a favourite place to go for dinner, this is the perfect time to take her there. If possible, arrange for the little one  to be looked after for a couple of hours, then whisk her off for an evening of fine dining. Bonus points if you can include a little extra time for her to spend getting ready with no interruptions!

How will you show her she's special this Mother's Day? We'd love to hear from you!
