How would you sum up your first few months at Crewe
Exciting, challenging and rewarding.
What career path did you take to get to where you are
I completed a degree in Human Resources and Marketing
(2:1 BA Hons), whilst at uni I did a placement at a hotel and also
had a part time job in a small local hotel. This is where I found
my passion for the industry, after completing my degree I went as a
marketing graduate into a local chair manufacturing company; I
missed the customer interaction but had a taste for sales /
marketing. I decided I wanted to get into sales but within the
hospitality industry. I wanted to be a fully rounded sales person
so went right back to basics and started in a reception role at a
local 4* wedding venue, here I quickly progressed into Duty
Management, Front office Manager, Christmas and Events Manager and
Sales & revenue roles. After 7 years in the same hotel I wanted
to broaden my knowledge in the corporate market which is when I got
offered the job as Sales Manager at Telford Hotel and Golf Resort
QHotels, after 12 months in the role I was promoted to Director of
Sales. After three years in this role I felt it was time for a new
challenge in a bigger conference house, Crewe Hall gave me this
What has been your greatest achievement in your career
Being part of a senior team which lead the hotel to win
Hotel of the Year and personally winning On Property Sales Manager
of the Year.
You have recently won the QHotels award for Sales
Manager of the Year. What advice would you give to someone starting
a career in sales?
Take every opportunity to broaden your knowledge within
the hotel industry; you can only truly sell a property with
commercial confident when you have full awareness of how the
business runs on a day to day basis.

from a Sales point of view?
It allows our clients to see we are relating what we do to them;
they feel part of our success and our award winning teams.
What has been your most favourite event to be involved in
Within a sales role the best event is always the one you have
taken right from a cold enquiry to the actual event. The initial
call being made to make a face to face appointment to present to
your client, understanding their needs and taking this away to
present them with a proposal, receiving the signed contract and
meeting that client again at the event is a fantastic feeling.
What do you love about your job as Director of
Every day is different! Fast pace and the desire to always want to

I have two! One with my two boys and hubby in our caravan in
France! I love the outdoors and being with my family! When they
leave home Dubai!
What is your favourite food?
Cheese and biscuits!
