Charity work at Crewe Hall

Crewe Hall has been working with local charity The Wingate Centre for over 3 years. The Wingate Centre is a specialist short break residential centre for special needs schools, voluntary groups and family support groups. The centre also offers sports recreational facilities to local disability organisations, day centres and special schools through its fully equipped gymnasium.

Crewe Hall selected this charity to work with because of the unique and valuable service it provides and the fact that the centre is fully independent and reliant on local people and businesses to keep it going.

  • In March 2017 we held a Spin-a-thon in aid of the NSPCC.
  • In December 2017, a chocolate and toy donation was made to Hope House.
  • Crewe Hall has strong links within the local community and works closely with the local tourism authorities.
  • Our Housekeeping department organise various different collections throughout the year. They collect biscuit & coffee wrappers from room service waste and used pens/pencils for the Wingate Centre. They also save lost property for 3 months before giving any uncollected items to Headway. Used soap bars are also collected and sent away to be re-shaped into new bars and sent overseas to those in need.
  • Lids from milk bottles are collected and donated to a local schoool for fundraising.
  • In March 2018, we held a raffle in aid of NSPCC/Make a Wish.
  • We save all used postage stamps received at Crewe Hall and donate them in December. Our donation in December 2017 supported The Barn Owl Trust.
  • Our team all wore their best Christmas jumper on Christmas Jumper Day 2017. Money raised was donated to the Wingate Centre.
  • Our fantasic Leisure Team climbed Mount Snowdon in March 2018. £563.54 was donated to NSPCC.
  • Sense clothes and book donation banks are available in the hotel car park.
