TOPIARY IN THE PARK – NEW RESTAURANT AT PARK ROYAL
Wednesday 26th July 2006
The Park Royal Hotel in Warrington will be opening its stunning new restaurant - Topiary in the Park – on 31st July 06. The launch of the new restaurant, bar and lounge is part of the second phase of development for the hotel and all part of an overall £3.8m major refurbishment programme.
Topiary in the Park is the hotel’s new 192 cover restaurant and has been styled in a contemporary but classic way, to create a rich feel and a warm, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Residents and non-resident diners can choose from a full a la carte menu and
daily specials, offering an extensive choice of tempting dishes.
Starters include smoked salmon with a watercress salad, blinis, soured cream and capers or perhaps pan seared scallops on a shallot puree with bacon, fennel and a Pernod and chive cream.
Mouth-watering main courses include loin of venison, on champ potatoes with a minestrone of vegetables and a juniper and annaise essence, and medallions of pork fillet coated in brioche breadcrumbs, pan fried and served with an apricot and plum chutney.
Baked chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream and iced strawberry parfait with black peppered strawberries and mint are among the desserts.
The menu also specialises in classic steaks and a selection of grilled fish with the addition of a range of delicious lighter dishes such as fresh salads and pasta dishes such as fresh egg linguine with sun blushed tomatoes, parma ham, chilli and garlic.
Head Chef Carl Stenson, said of the opening of Topiary in the Park: “This is a really exciting phase in the hotel’s history and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my colleagues to create a very considered new restaurant menu, focussing on extremely well-made dishes that our customers have told us they want and love. We have then balanced this by offering a range of lighter dishes, snacks and even breakfast items, either in the restaurant or lounge area.”
The restaurant opens for breakfast from 6.30am during the week and 7.30am at weekends. The breakfast menu includes freshly baked pastries and croissants, warm Belgian waffles with maple syrup and the filling toasted breakfast stack.
Lunch can be taken from the a la carte menu or, for those looking for something lighter, there are freshly made sandwiches, salads, panini and jacket potatoes as well as a choice of breads, olives and oils available in the lounge.
Afternoon tea will be served in the lounge from midday though to 5pm and the restaurant’s full a la carte menu is available for lunch and evening meals with last orders at 9.30pm. The bar and lounge menu also offers those looking to meet with friends and family a great range of drinks, teas and speciality coffees.
The hotel’s General Manager, Yvonne Jackson, said: “We are really looking forward to introducing Topiary in the Park and our exciting new menu to members of the local community over the coming weeks and months".
Yvonne added: “We expect our new restaurant to become extremely popular locally and to establish itself as a firm favourite with both locals and visitors to the area. Naturally, we pride ourselves on delivering fantastic service and creating a great atmosphere and we are extremely pleased with the overall ambience we have created at Topiary in the Park.”
