The Queens Climbs AA Score

Wednesday 7th November 2007

This month QHotels’ Leeds property, The Queens, celebrates a rise in its AA score from 78% last year to 80% (remaining at a four star rating) making it the highest AA merit scoring hotel in the city.

The score increase follows a full refurbishment of the hotel restaurant, completed to an excellent standard with high quality decor, flooring, furnishings and the added benefit of air conditioning.

Elizabeth Howe, Director of Marketing for QHotels commented: “We are working hard to improve the standard at each of our 21 highly individual properties in the UK.   We are delighted about the AA score increase at The Queens; which reflects our investment across the group.”

AA inspectors to The Queens commented that other areas throughout the hotel remain as positive as they were on the last visit with their expectations exceeded in many areas, particularly in the bedrooms where new flat screen TVs have driven the standard even higher.

Mark Platt, General Manager at The Queens comments: “We are delighted to receive an increase on our AA merit score; since 2006 we have driven the score from 77% to 80%; reflecting our commitment to service and facilities at The Queens, to ensure our clients stay is a relaxing and enjoyable one. We are now proud to be the highest AA scoring hotel in Leeds.

“Our hotel is certainly filled with tradition and character, with attractive art deco features throughout to a high standard of quality and comfort.”

The AA assesses three elements within each candidate from overall quality to provision of services and facilities.   Assessment areas scoring highest on the inspection at The Queens included the dining room (87%) and bedrooms (86%).
