The Midland welcomes a new addition

Manchester’s Midland Hotel is delighted to announce the welcome arrival of Pat Smith, recently appointed to the post of Special Events Manager.
Pat has been charged with the task of promoting The Midland’s newly refurbished function rooms, the Alexandra and Trafford Suites and with attracting new banqueting business to the hotel.
Commenting on her appointment at The Midland, Pat says: “The Midland has a brilliant pedigree and is famous for its first class service and standards…With the £13m investment, the prospects to succeed here are excellent and this was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss out on!”
Manchester born Pat started her career in the hotel industry as a receptionist with Village Leisure Hotels. It was there she showed flair for the hotel industry and after a succession of promotions became Key Account Manager in their Conference & Banqueting department.
Following that, Pat worked as an Events Sales Manager at a handful of Manchester hotels.
Pats’ experience of her time at the Midland so far is very encouraging. She adds: “ I’m really enjoying the challenge and pleased to be working with such a professional and committed team...The Midland is truly a pleasure to promote.”
The Midland Hotel, under the new ownership of QHotels, is currently undergoing a £15 million refurbishment. This proud and charming venue, steeped in history and character, will be revived as one of Manchester’s best loved hotels, with a design that will refresh the hotel for the 21st Century whilst also making reference to it’s significant past.
