Queens Hotel hosts finale to the FIRST Leeds’ Shopping Week
Friday 31st March 2006
Leeds’s own historic and famous Queens Hotel is to host the grand finale to Leeds’ Shopping Week. This event, the climax of the highly competitive search for two models within the region will consist of a catwalk fashion show, final of the modelling competition and exquisite reception.
During the weeks running up to Leeds’ Shopping Week, local heats will be held to search for a male and female model to win a contract with the highly-esteemed ‘Premier Models’ in London. The sixteen finalists will then gather at the newly refurbished Queens Hotel on 28th May to strut their stuff and prove they’ve got what it takes to be the next Nell McAndrew.
The Queens has recently completed a £10 million investment programme to restore its signature art-deco features, add a contemporary twist with modern facilities and ultimately transform this great landmark, making it the ideal location to host an event to select the region’s next hot talent.
Mark Platt, General Manager at the Queens Hotel, said “We are really excited about playing a major part in the first Leeds’ Shopping Week and it is a privilege to be hosting the final to the regions search for a model and closing celebrations to the week.
“The Queens is a highly-regarded historic building within Leeds and this is the perfect opportunity for us to support the city. We will also be able to showcase the newly refurbished building and the unique ambience at the hotel”.
The Queens Hotel, part of the QHotels group, is joining other big names in the city including The Light, Real Radio and the Leeds Guide to support the first Leeds’ Shopping Week which is to be held between 22nd and 28th May.
