QHotels Set to Begin a Multi-Million Pound Expansion at Norton Manor

QHotels has received full planning consent to transform and expand Norton Manor, the former management conference centre into a 4 Star deluxe hotel complex. QHotels will invest £11 Million into the property which is located in 50 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Winchester.
The work is set to begin in March with landscaping and the relocation of the main entrance. Further plans include the creation of a new conference centre, an increase from 97 to 185 bedrooms and a complete refurbishment and rebranding of the bar, dining facilities and leisure club area.
Andrew Mosley, General Manager at Norton Manor, said “The plans for expansion and refurbishment are really exciting and the £11 million investment will bring the hotel complex into a new league, as a first choice venue for leisure breaks and weddings, as well as a premier conferencing venue.
“There’s a good selection of competing hotels near Winchester but we believe we will create something really special and unique, generating interest with both business and leisure customers from much further afield”
He concluded, “At Norton Manor we are aiming to attract local residents too, with the creation of a contemporary and vibrant restaurant and the further establishment of an exclusive members only leisure and fitness club.”
The £11 million investment in Norton Manor is part of QHotels’ wider investment of over £50million across its portfolio of seven hotels. The planned final completion date for the project is January 2007, however QHotels hope that the hotel will be able to celebrate Christmas 2006 as the newly transformed Norton Manor.
