QHotels Debut at the London Golf Show 2007

This year QHotels will be making their debut at the London Golf Show. Visitors to their stand will be able to find out all about QHotel’s six golf courses and their exciting investment plans for 2007.
In November 2006 QHotels more than doubled the size of their portfolio when they added thirteen hotels to the group. They now have 22 venues throughout the UK, six of which are synonymous with the great game of golf. Forest Pines Golf and Country Club Hotel in North Lincolnshire, Hellidon Lakes in Northamptonshire, Aldwark Manor, near York, The Westerwood, near Glasgow, Telford Golf and Country Club Hotel in Shropshire.
QHotels will be investing heavily in their golf courses and the facilities throughout 2007. £500,000 will be invested in new equipment, £100,000 will be allocated to re-fitting the golf shops and they have agreed an exclusive deal with Bradshaw’s to supply a fleet of new buggies to Forest Pines, Telford and Aldwark Manor. The technological facilities will also be upgraded with online tee times being introduced as well as a new GPS shotmiser system with Optimizergolf.

The Westerwood, QHotels’ only Scottish venue, is one of the premier golf hotels in Scotland and is currently benefiting from a £5 million investment. Part of this investment includes plans for an additional 5 holes that will allow them to develop a practice facility, which will include a 4-hole academy. In addition to the course changes, the hotel’s new golf shop, changing rooms and Club Bar & Grill underwent full refurbishment and re-opened in April.
Forest Pines Golf and Country Club in North Lincolnshire has recently completed an £11 million refurbishment that has touched on every facet of the hotel, including a new golf shop, changing rooms and the full refurbishment of The Pines bar with a stunning balcony and views overlooking the course. QHotel’s are currently appealing against the planning decision regarding the extension of the course from 27 to 36 holes.
Telford Golf and Country Club Hotel in Shropshire joined QHotels in November 2006 and QHotels have already announced a £5 million investment plan that will include upgrading the changing rooms, shop and golf bar in July 2007. They will also be spending £200,000 with Abbotts to improve the irrigation system, and further plans for the course and practice facilities are due.
QHotels also have further plans with World record holding Trick Show artist David Edwards. QHotels, who sponsor David, have also signed up with David and his events company to run a number of pub challenges during winter 2007 and 2008 across the QHotels group. David was Director of Golf at QHotel’s Forest Pines Golf and Country Club Hotel for 11 years until July 2006. David recently broke his own world record at the Scottish Golf Show, hitting 310 balls in 3 minutes.
