QHotels £7.5m Investment at Ashford International Underway

QHotels is pleased to announce that the £7.5 million refurbishment to update and modernise The Ashford International Hotel in Kent is now underway.

QHotels purchased Ashford International hotel in July 2006, they immediately pledged to invest heavily in the property, upgrading and modernising the facilities in line with the rest of QHotels impressive portfolio.

The refurbishment will upgrade each of the hotel’s 179 bedrooms to QHotels standards, and the 12 conference, event and meeting rooms, including the Mountbattan Suite that can accommodate up to 400-theatre style, will be refurbished and modernised in line with QHotels Conference Standards. Ashford International will also benefit from the addition of 3 brand new state-of-the-art conference rooms.

The hotels leisure facilities will also benefit from the extensive investment with Reflections – Health, Fitness & Spa being increased to 3 times the current size, and will be equipped with Technogym machines and luxury spa treatment rooms. Finally, the hotel’s bar and restaurant will be extended and refurbished to create a brasserie style restaurant and contemporary club style bar.

Since they began in 2003 QHotels are rapidly becoming renowned for well planned and quality refurbishments of well located properties, and The Ashford International is not exception. Situated just minutes from major transport networks including the motorway and the Eurostar, this refurbishment is set to make the hotel one of the most enviable hotel and conference centres.

Details of Refurbishment

 

The first phase of the refurbishment will concentrate on upgrading each of the 179 bedrooms to QHotels standards. They will be redesigned for optimum comfort with soft furnishing, lighting and decoration, and benefit from air conditioning, WiFi technology, LCD televisions and laptop safes. 3 junior suites will be created and there will be a number of rooms upgraded to comply with DDA standards.    

With 12 conference and meeting rooms Ashford International is the largest conference facility in Kent and QHotels will be investing significantly in the conference and event facilities. All of the conference and meeting rooms will be refurbished and modernised in line with QHotels Conference Standards. Air conditioning will be installed throughout and all the rooms will be equipped with state-of-the-art conference facilities and will benefit from WiFi throughout. The work on the conference facilities has already begun and the hotels largest conference room, The Mountbatten Suite, which is able accommodate up to 400-theatre style, is due for completion at the beginning of May.

It is not only the bedrooms and conference facilities that will benefit from QHotels significant investment at this venue.   The hotels leisure facilities will be upgraded and expanded to three times the current size to create a ‘Reflections - health, fitness and spa’ facility that will be equipped with state-of-the-art technogym facilities and 6 treatment rooms. Reflections at The Ashford International Hotel will not only be a significant addition to the hotel but also to the local area.

The final phase of the renovations will concentrate on the hotels existing bar and restaurant. The restaurant will be extended and fully refurbished to create a Brasserie style restaurant with a landscaped terrace, and the Florentine Bar will be refurbished to create a contemporary club style bar.
