The luxury hip 4-star Nottingham Belfry, which opened in February 2006, walked away with two coveted trophies, winning the gold award for Business Tourism and silver in the Large Hotel category. The hotel was credited by judges for offering an ‘exemplary service and a high quality product’.

Marston Hotels chairman Chris Scragg said: “This is a fantastic achievement. The Nottingham Belfry has quickly gained an excellent reputation among the corporate sector and winning these awards further vindicates our decision to invest £22 million in building a hotel of this calibre in the East Midlands.

“For The Nottingham Belfry to be recognised as a quality benchmark to which others should aspire is testament to the commitment and professionalism of the hotel’s general manager, Russell Waters, and his talented team.”

MARSTON HOTELS’ NOTTINGHAM BELFRY WINS GOLD AT TOURISM AWARDS

The hotel’s 120 bedrooms, which include a choice of executive rooms and air-conditioned suites, have bathrooms with separate showers, flat-screen plasma TVs and the latest in-fast computer solutions. The hotel’s Reflections Spa and Leisure Club offers a swimming pool, gym, spa, steam room and sauna, aerobics studio and six treatment rooms. Visitors can also enjoy fine dining in the ultra-modern Lawrence Restaurant or the Oaks Brasserie, or relax over a drink in the hip Chatterley’s bar.

The Nottingham Belfry is part of a massive expansion programme by the independently-owned Marston Hotels group, which owns 12 properties at key locations throughout the UK. The company has earmarked a further £22 million over the next two years for investment in its hotel portfolio, including a £7 million project at signature hotel Crewe Hall, in Cheshire, to build 45 new rooms, a spa and a leisure club. In addition, opportunities are being sought for new-builds in the M4 corridor and the South East.
