Chesford Grange - Short Listed for Tourism Award

Monday 14th August 2006

The Heart of England Excellence in Tourism Awards 2006 shortlist has been announced and the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire, part of the Qhotels group, has been short listed for the Large Hotel of the Year award.

Chesford Grange is a luxurious hotel, set in 17 acres of private grounds and woodlands in the heart of Warwickshire's countryside. QHotels has recently completed a £6 million restoration project at the hotel including the 209 spacious bedrooms, which have been updated, refitted and refurnished. Chesford Grange has unveiled its new River Room restaurant that has been built at the rear of the property overlooking the landscaped gardens, providing an excellent setting for dining. The rebuilding and renovation of the hotels conference and banqueting centre has created one of the best conference venues in the heart of England.

Joanne Barratt, General Manager, Says: “We are thrilled to have been short listed for these awards. Everyone involved has worked so hard on the huge restoration project by Qhotels; I am delighted that their hard work has been recognised by the Heart of England Tourism.”

Heart of England Tourism will assess those who have made it through to the shortlist. Finalists for the regional tourism awards will then be announced later this month following further scrutiny from the judging panel chaired by Heart of England Tourism Chairman, Sir William Lawrence, Elizabeth Halls from Quality at Heart and Kay Alexander, BBC West Midlands. The winners will be announced at a regional awards ceremony at Coventry Cathedral on Thursday 12th October.
