£4.5 million Refurbishment of The Chase Hotel Completed

Monday 7th May 2007

QHotels is pleased to announce the completion of the exciting £4.5 million refurbishment of The Chase hotel in Cheltenham.

QHotels purchased the former Moathouse hotel, under the name ‘The Cheltenham and Gloucestershire Chase Hotel’, in January 2006. They immediately announced a significant investment and a new shorter, simpler name, ‘The Chase’.

The refurbishment began in August 2006 and since then work has been underway to transform The Chase into a luxury 4-star hotel. The investment and refurbishment has touched on every feature of the venue, upgrading and modernising the facilities in line with the rest of the QHotels impressive portfolio, which includes the prestigious hotel The Midland in Manchester.

Tom Fromm, General Manager of The Chase hotel says;

“We are so pleased to have arrived at this point, it has been a lot of hard work but it has been worth it. Over the past 6 months the hotel has undergone a complete transformation and I think that everyone will be very impressed.”

All conference and meeting rooms have benefited from a refurbishment to modernise the facilities in line with QHotels Conference Standards, with comfort cooling installed in all rooms. The largest suite, the Buckholt, has been extended and has undergone a full refurbishment, transforming it into an elegant, contemporary conference and banqueting suite that is able to accommodate up to 400 guests.

£1 million has been invested in the total re-build of the health, leisure and beauty facility ‘Reflections’, which is set to be one of the finest facilities in the area. Reflections has been equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym facilities and offers a selection of Decleor beauty treatments and relaxation therapies.

The investment has extended Hardy’s restaurant giving it a warm, soft and modern feel with stunning views of the Cotswold Hills through the addition of a conservatory. Another new addition to the restaurant is the ‘New York Sunday Brunch’, which will be available from the 18th March. The new menu is not an imitation, General Manager of The Chase, New Yorker Tom Fromm, has brought the authentic Sunday Brunch menu from Manhattan to Cheltenham.

Each of the hotels’ 122 en-suite bedrooms has undergone total refurbishment with every detail designed for comfort, including the installation of air conditioning throughout. The Chase Hotel has been given the feel of a cosy country lodge through the use of natural materials, such as stone, slate and rough hewin timbers, emboldened with autumnal colours. Overall the investment at The Chase hotel has reinvented the venue into a deluxe 4-star Hotel.
