400,000 makeover for Staff at QHotels

Monday 3rd October 2005

This week sees the launch of new uniforms for all staff across the QHotels group.

QHotels has invested £400,000 in a massive makeover of all uniforms, including made to measure outfits, for all 800 front of house, catering, housekeeping and services staff across the group.

QHotels appointed the highly esteemed company Fashionizer to undertake this complete overhaul of the uniforms, whose previous clients include The Dorchester, Claridges and The Ritz.

Fashionizer’s Director Debbie Leon said: “We worked hard to ensure the new uniforms paralleled the brand colours, exclusivity and distinctiveness of QHotels. The sharp, tailored suits in aubergine, silver and grey for the front of house staff and a warm palette of gold and orange for employees in the food and beverage areas definitely portray the right image.

“However, the secret of any project lies not only in fashion creativity but also in generating a solution which works artistically, technically, financially and above all, one that both staff and management are happy to buy into – something that we have definitely achieved for QHotels”.

The new uniforms display the corporate colours and will be worn across the portfolio of six hotels: The Queens, Leeds; The Midland, Manchester; The Park Royal, Warrington; Chesford Grange, Warwickshire; Norton Manor, Winchester and Forest Pines, North Lincolnshire.

As an integral part of raising standards and staff pride across the group, QHotels management felt it was imperative that staff welcomed the new uniforms. It would have been easier to provide an off the peg uniform, but QHotels desire to invest in staff presentation and confidence involved a lengthy process of measuring staff to provide an individually tailored fit. This has been ongoing over the past six months and a wearer-trial enabled QHotels management and Fashionizer to make changes in keeping with staff comments and advice.

Michael Purtill, Managing Director of QHotels, said: “The new uniforms are of exceptional quality and are bespoke to QHotels. They depict a stylish corporate image and convey a strong brand identity but also meet different operational requirements of six hotels located all over England.”
