As you arrive at The Queens Hotel, there is a lay bay located
directly outside the main entrance for dropping off and picking up
only. This has a dropped kerb. There is a level, paved ramp from
the disabled parking into the hotel where the main entrance has
four steps up to a manual revolving door and a ramp leading to a
wheelchair accessible side door. We guarantee a space in our car
park for all blue badge holders via our exclusive Concierge service
The main hotel car park, of which there are 80 spaces, is
located below the hotel. Guests should park their cars in the drop
off point at the front of the hotel and a member of our Concierge
team will valet park your car at The Queens Hotel.
If you need assistance with luggage or equipment, our team of
porters and concierge are on duty 24 hours.
The Reception desk is located on the ground floor of the hotel in
the entrance lobby. The reception desk is 112cm high although
check-in can also be completed whilst sitting at the lounge
furniture in the lobby area.
You will be offered a personal check-in service with a full
explanation of the hotel's facilities together with a
familiarisation tour if required. Assistance is available to help
take your luggage to your room.
Reception staff will also brief you on our evacuation policy and
please note on your registration card if assistance is needed in
the event of an evacuation.
The following accessible aids are available at Reception:
• Portable Induction Loop for use at Reception
• Vibrating Pad to assist waking guests with hearing disabilities
in the event of a fire alarm
• An evac chair is also available to enable staff to assist with
the emergency evacuation of disabled, if necessary.
In front of the reception and to the left of the concierge desk

The Queens Hotel has 6 purpose built disabled rooms located
between floors two to seven. One of the bedrooms interconnects to a
double room for use by a carer or children. Twin or double bed
combinations are available.
In the bedroom there is transfer space and turning of at least
120cm either side of beds. The flooring in bedrooms is short pile
carpet and flooring in bathrooms is tiled. Reading lamps are
provided. Mini-bar fridges are supplied in each room and room
service is available 24 hours. Items of furniture can also be moved
or removed on request.
The bathrooms are designed with an accessible wheel-in shower /
wall mounted drop down seat and appropriate grab rails. Emergency
pull cords link directly to reception from the bathroom. Horizontal
and vertical grab rails are positioned at the side of the
In the event of fire alarm activation these rooms have a sounder.
In the event of an emergency a member of the team will assist with
your evacuation if necessary. Fire evacuation advice is provided on
the back of your bedroom door.
There are no steps or slopes on the main corridors and public
areas on the ground floor.
The restaurant is located on the lower ground floor and can be
accessed by the two main passenger lifts. The hotel bar and lounge
facilities are located on the ground floor but do have some steps
but table service is offered.

Conference, Banqueting & Meeting Rooms
Our meeting rooms are located on the ground and first floor and
are fully accessible from Reception using the passenger lifts. The
meeting rooms on the first floor are accessed via the lifts or
staircase to the left of reception. Wheelchair ramps are used to
access our ballroom. Our Pateley room is the only meeting room that
cannot be accessed by wheelchair users.
Hearing loops are available upon request in advance. Lighting can
be dimmed where required.
Please notify your conference or banquet contact for specific
seating or staging requirements.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground and lower ground
floor which are both accessed via the lift.
Alternative means of transport
If not travelling by car, the nearest bus stop is located at Leeds
Railway Station at the side of the hotel and the bus routes from
here take you to the White Rose Centre, Leeds Bradford Airport and
a number of other locations outside Leeds.
An accessible taxi service is available from Amber Cars who can be
contacted on 0113 2311366.
The nearest train station is Leeds Railway Station, which is
attached to the side of the hotel. The station concourse can be
accessed from within the hotel without the need to venture outside
the Queens Hotel building.
The town centre is a minute walk from the hotel entrance.
