Access Statement

We aim to provide the highest standards of service to all our guests and we look forward to welcoming you to Forest Pines Hotel and making your stay an enjoyable one. Facilities available for guests with disability needs are as follows:

Arrival

Directions to Forest Pines Hotel are available by clicking here, or by calling the hotel on 01652 650770.

As you arrive at Forest Pines Hotel, you will find 400 parking spaces of which 10 are reserved for blue badge holders. These are located at the front of reception and on the left hand side of the car park, another 5 is located in front of the leisure club and on the left hand side of the events centre. There is also a turning circle located directly outside the main entrance for dropping off and picking up only. This has a dropped kerb. The main entrance has two sets of automatic sliding doors. Manual side doors are available if required.

If you need assistance with luggage or equipment, our team of porters are on duty 24 hours.

Reception

The Reception desk is located on the ground floor of the hotel in the entrance lobby. The reception desk is 121cm high although check-in can also be completed whilst sitting at the seating area in reception; Clip boards are also available for guests who would like to stay at reception. Assistance is available to help take your luggage to your room.

Reception staff will also brief you on our evacuation policy and please note on your registration card if assistance is needed in the event of an evacuation.

The following accessible aids are available at Reception:

• Portable Induction Loop for use at Reception.

• Vibrating Pad to assist waking guests with hearing disabilities in the event of a fire alarm.

• An evac chair is also available to enable staff to assist with the emergency evacuation of disabled, if necessary.

To the left of the main reception are the lifts to the 1st and 2nd floor bedrooms and also to some of our meeting rooms. To leisure, golf and the rest of the meeting rooms and bedrooms go left at reception, turn right and follow the corridor on. Take a left at the end of the corridor then instantly on the right is a link corridor to the rest of the Meeting rooms. Exit that building and straight ahead will be another building to leisure and golf. For the rest of the bedrooms, carry on down the corridor then turn left. At the end of the corridor will be another lift to the remaining bedrooms.

Bedrooms

Forest Pines Hotel has 6 purpose built disabled rooms on the Ground floor. One of the bedrooms interconnects to a double room for use by a carer or children. In the bedroom there is transfer space and turning of at least 120cm on one side of the bed and a transfer space and turning of at least 60cm on the other side of the bed. The flooring in bedrooms is short pile carpet and flooring in bathrooms is tiled. Reading lamps are provided. Room service is 24 hours. Items of furniture can also be moved or removed on request.

The bathrooms are designed with an accessible wheel-in shower / wall mounted drop down seat and appropriate grab rails. Emergency pull cords link directly to reception from both the bedroom and bathroom. Horizontal and vertical grab rails are positioned at the side of the toilet. In the event of an emergency a member of the team will assist with your evacuation if necessary. Fire evacuation advice is provided on the back of your bedroom door and a disabled refuge area is situated in the link corridor in the Tennyson pre function area and also on the top of the stairs in the events centre. In case staff needs to summon extra assistance during your evacuation.

Public areas

All the restaurant, bar and lounge facilities at in the main Hotel are located on the ground floor on the same level making them easily accessible. The restaurant and bar in the leisure building is located on the first floor serviced by a lift.

Lifts to bedrooms and in the events centre have audible enunciation and tactile buttons at standard height.

Accessible toilet facilities are located to the right of reception, in the events centre and in the leisure building.

Conference, Banqueting & Meeting Rooms

Some Meeting rooms are on the first floor and are accessed via the lifts or staircase to the left of reception. We also have meeting rooms in the events centre which is accessed by a link corridor from the main hotel. This is located a short distance from reception along a corridor and up sloping ramps or steps. There is also a change in level between the hotel and events centre accessed by a small number of steps or by lift.

Hearing loops are available upon request in advance. Lighting can be dimmed where required.

Please notify your conference or banquet for specific seating or staging requirements.

Accessible toilets are located at the ground floor and first floor of the events centre.

Reflections Leisure and Spa

The leisure club is located on the ground floor. A member of the leisure team will show you the facilities and assist with access to the swimming pool and spa. If required, a hoist is available to gently lower you in and out of the pool. A dedicated accessible toilet and changing area is located within the leisure club, as well as a wheel in shower room with drop down seat and appropriate grab rails. Access to poolside is on the same level and there are steps with a handrail into the shallow end of the pool. Both the steam room and sauna are accessible with door widths of 84cm. Seating is provided in both.

Outdoor Facilities

The patio area can be accessed via the Conservatory lounge which is level and paved.

We also have a 27 hole championship golf course. The Golf pro shop and changing rooms are located on the ground floor in the leisure building all on the same level. Golf buggies, electric trolleys and manual trolleys are all available for hire (subject to availability).

Alternative means of transport

If not travelling by car, the nearest bus stop is located outside the main entrance take a left and there is one on either side of the road. And the bus routes from here take you to Broughton, Brigg and Scunthorpe.
