QHotels Dishes Up a Treat for

British Food Fortnight

QHotels, an award-winning collection of 21 unique hotels throughout the UK, is serving up a mouth-watering selection of local food to mark this year’s British Food Fortnight (17th September–2nd October 2011), a celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food that Britain produces.

QHotels is also the first major hotel group to be an official partner of "Love British Food", the organisers of British Food Fortnight. Head Chefs at each QHotel have prepared ‘British Food Fortnight’ menus, with provenance at the heart.

The Park Royal in Cheshire is treating guests to Fleetwood kipper pâté with Wirral watercress and sourdough toast and Goosnargh Duck Breast with pumpkin puree, buttered kale and potato gratin.

At Chesford Grange, the menu celebrates local Warwickshire ingredients, with rib eye steak from the nearby Duke of Buccleuch Estate gourmet chips, confit tomato, flat mushroom and a watercress salad. The hotel’s Local Paxton & Whitfield cheese platter with tasty local cheeses including, Hereford Hop and Oxford Blue is also served alongside homemade chutney, flavoured with ale from the Warwickshire Beer Company.

Paul Bayliss, part of the QHotels’ Food and Beverage steering group and hotel manager at The Midland in Manchester, said: "We are passionate about purchasing, preparing, cooking and serving what is some of the best produce in the world and we see being members of Love British Food as an ideal excuse to get more people signed up to doing the same."

QHotels is committed to using locally sourced, seasonal, quality British food and drink wherever possible.
