QHotels introduces its 'Eco Wedding' package, minimising the
environmental effects of celebrating their love with carbon
offsetting. At an average cost of 50p per wedding guest, the new
initiative makes a unique wedding favour for couples to share with
their loved ones on the day.
The package will enable couples to balance the carbon emissions
produced at their wedding with equivalent reductions in carbon
emissions elsewhere, which in turn will be invested into renewable
energy, energy efficiency or reforestation projects in Africa, Asia
and South America.
This latest initiative is just one of the ways QHotels works to
tailor its wedding offering for every couple across each of its 21
properties in the UK. From countryside manor houses to venues in
the heart of the city, each team works with brides and grooms to
make their day unique to them and what they care about the most,
including the environment.
Philip King, Director of Property at QHotels said: "We're seeing
an increase in wedding couples looking to make their day that
little bit different and the 'Eco Wedding' package is a great way
for them to stand out while giving back to the environment - guests
can leave knowing they've contributed to a greener future.
"Sustainability is at the heart of our business and carbon
offsetting is something we wanted to offer wedding couples as they
start their future together. It's an initiative we work on with
Carbon Clear across the group and was recognised recently in the
Green Tourism Business Scheme Awards."
