The Midland is celebrating after Adam Reid, Head Chef at The
French by Simon Rogan scooped a prestigious Caterer &
Hotelkeeper Acorn Award, making him one of the top four young chefs
in the country.
Recognising the biggest prospects in the hospitality industry
under the age of 30, Adam received his award at a celebration
ceremony held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire.
It has been an exciting few weeks for The Midland. This latest
accolade follows The Food and Travel Reader Awards which revealed
The French has been shortlisted for Outside of London Restaurant of
the Year, and The Midland for City Hotel of the Year.
Adam Reid, Head Chef of The French said: "I feel really honoured
to have been awarded an Acorn Award. The French has brought me on
an incredible journey over the last 18 months, and having grown up
in Manchester, I'm so proud to be part of one of its most iconic

Nominated by his peers for making a big impression in the
restaurant industry, Adam was praised for his flair and passion,
and continuing Simon Rogan's great work in putting Manchester
firmly back on the foodie map.

The French by Simon Rogan perfectly combines its breath-taking
heritage setting with progressive cooking. Whilst the venue

British cuisine, which is consistently delivered to a high
