Nestling in the hotel's 220 acres of private grounds, Hellidon Lakes' championship course offers challenges aplenty for beginners and scratch golfers alike. As you might expect, many of the 27 holes feature water hazards, albeit with a choice of challenging carries over, or safer routes around the numerous lakes; on the par 5 twelfth, for instance, two long shots over the water can end in triumph or disaster, whereas three shots along the zigzag route can yield a solid par.
On your way round, you can't help but notice the diverse flora and fauna that flourish around the greens and fairways. Badgers, deer, foxes and a multitude of birds blend happily into the surroundings, the result of a deliberate policy to preserve large tracts of the valley as their natural habitat.
The result is a truly exclusive blend of 'back to nature' scenery and the highest of year round playing standards on large, well kept greens and well-drained fairways. Length, accuracy, judgement of distance and concentration are all examined on a truly unique round.
And after your game, you can enjoy the magnificent facilities and ready hospitality on offer at Hellidon Lakes clubhouse, set in a commanding position overlooking the 18th and offering superb views from its terrace bar over the picturesque Hellidon Lakes.

So for those days when the weather's less than clement (and we know, real golfers don't throw in the towel until the rain's at least horizontal… but there are limits), we've arranged a whole range of other ways to fill your day.
You can polish your technique on our golf simulator; a state of the art digital swing doctor that will measure, analyse and help you hone your technique to eek every last yard out of your drive.
You can treat yourself to a relaxing round of pampering in our reflections Spa and leisure club, offering everything from a muscle melting massage (just the thing after 27 intense holes of golf), to aromatherapy, manicure and pedicure or even Hopi ear candles!
Or, if you're feeling more energetic, why not swap the fairway for the bowling alley or enjoy an energetic work out in our fully equipped gym?

Exit at Junction 16 and take the A45 towards Daventry. After approx. 8 miles take the A361 towards Banbury. Approx. 5 miles from Daventry (just before Charelton) turn right towards Hellidon and Priors QHotels. After approx. 2.2 miles take the SECOND turning on the right towards Hellidon. The Hotel is on the left.
From the M40
Leave at Junction 11 (Banbury) and take the A361 towards Daventry. Approximately 11 miles from Banbury, just after passing Charwelton, turn left towards Hellidon and Priors QHotels. After approx. 2.2 miles take the SECOND turning on the right towards Hellidon. The hotel is on the left.
