Walton Hall Gardens was originally part of a much larger country
estate purchased in 1812 by the Greenall family, famous for their
success in the brewing industry. The Hall itself was built in
Elizabethan style during the 1830's, designed by Edmund Sharpe of
Lancaster, who later became famous for the Gothic revival in
architecture.The Estate was bought by Warrington Borough Council in
1941 and has been enjoyed as a park since 1945.Today it is the
ideal place for a family day out with spacious lawns, picnic areas,
play area, children's zoo, heritage centre and outdoor games. The
mature parkland and ornamental gardens remain beautiful throughout
the year with trees and shrubs from all over the world.
Risley Moss Nature Reserve

Whatever the time of year there is always something different to
see and do at Risley Moss. In 2004 the Reserve achieved the Green
Flag Award for its welcoming and friendly atmosphere and for its
accessibility and community involvement. Choose one of three short
way-marked trials and explore the Reserve on pathways suitable for
prams and wheelchairs, winding through woodland and meadows. Sit
and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature or join in a Ranger led
event. Climb the Observation Tower for a panoramic view of the
mosslands at tree top height, or spend a few minutes watching
wildlife from the Woodland Hide. In wintertime the Woodland Hide
feeding station attracts over twenty species of bird. Greater
Spotted Woodpeckers visit daily and you may also glimpse a fox
foraging for scraps. Stop for a moment to watch butterflies and
other insects feeding in the meadows; or look into the underwater
world of the ponds.

Welcome to Delamere Forest Park, a shady oasis in the midst of the
agricultural landscape of the Cheshire Plain. Delamere Forest Park
is Cheshire's largest area of woodland and is a place for families
to let off steam, escape the crowds and find peace in the heart of
the forest .
Go Ape: Go Ape is an award-winning high wire forest adventure
course of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip slides... all set
high up in the tree tops. Climb the trees and slide across high
wires, crawl through tunnels, cross rope bridges, walk the planks
and zip down to the ground!
Providing a fun day out with friends, families or colleagues,
you'll be fitted with a climbing harness and given instruction
before trekking from tree to tree high above the forest
floor. Split into a number of different sections, the
experience takes approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete but may vary
depending on how many people are up in the trees.

Anderton Boat Lift

Located near Northwich in Cheshire, the Anderton Boat Lift is one
of the greatest monuments to Britain's last canal age and known as
the "Cathedral of the Canals". Built in 1875 it was the world's
first and is currently England's only Boat Lift.

Operations Centre houses education and visitor facilities -
creating one of the region's most important visitor
