The Midland Hotel
Dining at the Colony Restaurant in Manchester
Evocative of nineteenth century Manchester in its “cottonopolis” heyday, our restaurant is named in memory of that rakish society of American textile traders, The Old Colony Club, who made The Midland Hotel infamous as their haunt in the city.
The restaurant, recently refurbished to exacting standards of luxury and style, offers a memorable à la carte menu. Versatile signature dishes with an emphasis on seafood take pride of place in the restaurant, notably the smoked haddock and pea risotto and deep-fried hake. Diners in the mood for simpler fare will not regret sampling the house favourite, the Old Colony burger - a modern salute to our colonial forebears.
Whether visiting for a pre-theatre meal or relaxing over a long, traditional Sunday lunch, The Colony is a Manchester restaurant with a relaxed style all of its own, and one which is simply not to be missed.
