A day out in the Forest of Dean can be as energetic or as tranquil as you like. One of the last surviving ancient woodlands in England, this National Forest Park has woodland trails, cycle tracks, family attractions and nature reserves. (Visit between April and August and you may get a bird’s eye of the nesting Peregrine falcons from Symonds Yat, 120 metres above the River Wye). Something for everyone, in a place like no other.
