Tankersley Manor Team Takes Accolades at Hospitality Sheffield Awards

The team Tankersley Manor near Sheffield, part of the award-winning QHotels group, have plenty to smile about having scooped three accolades at this year’s annual Hospitality Sheffield Awards.

Debbie Smith, Senior Conference & Events Coordinator won the highly acclaimed ‘Shooting Star Award’ for the dedication, professionalism and willingness to go that extra mile that she has displayed since she started at Tankersley Manor as a junior receptionist in 2007. A valued member of the team, Debbie has through her unstinting hard work and commitment progressed to her current senior position with responsibility for managing all special events at the hotel, running three highly successful wedding fayres a year and mentoring and training new members of the team.  

Head Kitchen Porter Tim Webster was runner-up in the ‘Unsung Hero’ category where he impressed the judges with his reliability, enthusiasm and energy. Having worked at the hotel for 11 years Tim was nominated by his fellow colleagues who felt that his talent and willingness to go above and beyond on a daily basis should be recognised. Finally Kay Speed, Conference & Banqueting Manager, was also runner-up in the ‘Exceptional Customer Service’ category. Again a long-time employee of 11 years, Kay is responsible for managing the events that take place at the hotel, from banquets for 300 to conferences and training courses taking place in the 11 meeting suites and in particular the 100plus weddings that take place every year.  It is Kay’s attention to detail and ‘can-do’ attitude in resolving last minute issues and calming bridal nerves that has helped Tankersley Manor achieve its reputation as being one of the top wedding venues in South Yorkshire.
