Tankersley Manor Shortlisted in First Ever Health Club Awards Voted for by the Public
The leisure club at Tankersley Manor, near Sheffield, part of the award-winning QHotels group, has been recognised for its quality of service and value for money having been shortlisted in the Members Choice Health Club Awards 2011.
Voted for by the public, the unique award scheme measures the quality of customer service, facilities and value provided by clubs by asking members to rate them by completing an online questionnaire.
Simon Brown who runs the scheme explains “Belonging to a good health and leisure club is a rewarding experience. Members probably spend more time there than they realise and it’s become an integral part of their lifestyle. The Members Choice Health Club Awards aim to find out which clubs are providing the most rewarding experience by asking members to rate their club. Only 90 clubs across the UK have reached the shortlist stage of the awards and every single one of them should be extremely proud of that fact. There’s no better endorsement for a club than from the customers who are using the facilities on a regular basis and that says a huge amount about the way these clubs are run”.
Over 16,000 gym members completed a questionnaire between January and March 2011, nominating their club. All clubs were then ranked into 15 regions with up to 10 clubs shortlisted in each region. In September the regional gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced as well as the individual Grand Prix awards for Best Club in the UK.
Richard Hirst Leisure Club Manager at Tankersley Manor said “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Members Choice Health Club Awards 2011 and would like to thank all of the members who voted for us. We aim to provide everyone who uses our leisure club, whether they are regular members or hotel guests, with a first rate level of service, state-of-the art equipment and the expert help and advice that they may need when embarking on a fitness programme. The fact that we have been nominated for this award by our members shows that we are doing something right and I am sure that they, along with everyone at the hotel will be keeping fingers crossed for the finals in September.”
The QHotels group as a whole has also been nominated in the “Best Medium Operator” category for its 19 leisure and spa hotels.
