Hotel Boss Honoured

Deirdre Billing, General Manager of the Ashford International Hotel was honoured this week with a special recognition award from Visit Kent to thank her for her contribution to, and support of tourism in the county.

Attending the annual Visit Kent Chairman’s Garden Party, Deirdre was amazed and hugely delighted to be presented with her award by Visit Kent Chairman Amanda Cottrell, who praised Deirdre’s commitment to working with the association to promote Kent as an attractive destination for holidays and events and for always being supportive of the needs of the organisation, from helping with enquiries to hosting the Group Travel Organisers Associational (GTOA) event in January this year.

"I was totally taken by surprise when Amanda called out my name as recipient of this award but incredibly honoured to have been recognised by Visit Kent" said Deirdre "We live and work in a beautiful part of the country and, there can be no doubt, that Kent is a truly superb destination; not only to explore for days out and holidays, but also as a gateway into the rest of Europe. With our excellent transport links we are also easily accessible for businesses who might be looking to hold meetings outside of the capital.
