Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel near York, part of award-winning hotel group QHotels has invested nearly £200,000 in the refurbishment of six of its traditional period bedrooms to create elegant, ‘best in house’ suites for those looking to celebrate a special occasion or merely treat themselves to a stay in sumptuous surroundings with outstanding views. The charming 54-bedroom hotel which stands in 100 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Ure is a delightfully eclectic mixture of traditional and modern, with the original Manor House dating back to the 17^th century juxtaposed to the more recently built contemporary wing. The six newly refurbished suites are all in the heart of the Old Manor House with views overlooking the 18-hole golf course, manicured gardens or sweeping front driveway. Design Company Parker Liddell worked together with the in-house team using warm neutrals and splashes of bright jewel-like colours, with each room individually and sympathetically refurbished to reflect the period charm of the house including some with bay windows, stone fireplaces and ornate architectural features. All include the either a period and or modern four poster bed or divans with ultra deep mattresses, feather and down toppers and duvets.
