Aldwark Manor ‘End of Summer Party’ Raises over £500 for Charity

Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel near York, part of award-winning hotel group QHotels celebrated the end of summer last month with a garden party and family fun day that raised over £500 for Asthma UK.

Over 250 people braved the blustery and sporadically wet conditions to participate in outdoor spinning classes, yoga on the lawn, scavenger hunts, a golf putting competition next to the 18-hole golf course and a wide variety of party games. There was time to enjoy champagne and a BBQ in the garden, engage in activities such as face painting and browse the selection of stalls set up in the grounds. A raffle, with prizes ranging from membership to Aldwark Manor’s state-of-the-art gym to dinner for two within the beautiful surroundings of the restaurant, helped to raise the £500 for Asthma UK, QHotels charity of choice for 2011.

"Until these last few days it has been a bit of a damp summer to say the least and our end of summer garden party was no exception! However this in no-way deterred everyone who attended from having a really fun day whilst at the same time helping to raise money for a very worthwhile cause." said Steven Hodgkinson, General Manager of Aldwark Manor "It was also a great opportunity for people to explore the hotel and grounds as well as try out a couple of exercise classes or their hand at putting."
