AquAid - We have provided funding for 28 elephant pump wells in rural Africa through AquAid. This funding has provided a sustainable supply of safe, clean, and productive water for 28 different communities, which has transformed the lives of over 6000 people enabling them to have a safe and sustainable solution to their water needs which will help break the cycle of poverty.
Asthma UK – Asthma affects over 5.4m people in the UK. QHotels selected Asthma UK as its nominated group charity for 2010-2012. For more information click here.
Cancer Research - Led by Ian Goulding, our Finance Director, a small group of "hiking hoteliers" went for a hike on 17th - 18th May 2010 that stretched over 24 of the highest peaks in the Lake District (all over 2,400 ft). The team raised £31,000 for Cancer Research. Ian nominated this charity as the beneficiary as his mother had recovered from cancer earlier in the year.
Sport Relief - Nominated as one of the charities to be supported by our 19 hotel Leisure Clubs, £8,316 was donated to Sport Relief through a range of activities held for our leisure members
Children in Need - Nominated as the other key beneficiary of our 19 hotel Leisure Clubs charitable efforts, £4026 was donated to Children in Need through a range of activities held for our leisure members
Debra - The Leisure and Spa team nominated Debra as their nominated charity for team events in 2008 and raised in excess off £15,000 through 2 events – The Yorkshire 3 Peaks and It’s A Knock Out
Hotel Specific Charities - All hotels are encouraged to support local charities and community projects such as St Gemma’s Hospice, Leeds for whom The Queens raised £3572 in 2008
