Investing in our Communities

Our aim is to use our skills, experience and financial resources to support local and national initiatives, which encourage our team members’ involvement and positively impact the communities in which they live and work.

2011 Achievements

• Over £62,000 raised for our QHotels national charity, Asthma UK, through a series of hotel events, raffles and participation in UK challenge events such as The London Marathon and The Great North Run.
• Hotel support of local charities and good causes suvh as Stratford Manor's support of The Shakespeare Hospice with the Great Shakespeare Ride 2011.
• On 4th April 2011, QHotels launched a carbon offsetting scheme for business and conference delegates. Funds from this scheme support a hydropower project in Brazil, which is aimed at providing an environmentally-friendly alternative to regular power.
• Became a charity partner in "Meetings Industry Meeting Needs", a charity specialising in supporting worthy causes relevant to the events industry for 2011/12.

2012 Objectives

• To adopts arange of national charities that hotels are able to choose to support.
• To extend our carbon offsetting scheme to all accommodation.
• To support the British Bee Keepers Association (BBKA)
